Drive to Daroji Sloth bear sanctuary begins with bird watching (post lunch). This resort connects the sanctuary through scrub jungle with a canal on the sideways of the road making it a good habitat for bird watching. Some of the wild animals and birds that you can be sure to see and will be lucky to click (as I was) are published below.
Daroji boasts to acquire a very good population of Sloth bears (more than 100) and can be seen ranging in the sanctuary. It’s also home to the endemic yellow throated bulbuls and painted spur fowls. Some other wild animals that can be seen in this sanctuary are leopards, hyenas, wild boars, black naped hares, porcupines, jackals, pangolins etc.

How to get there
The Sloth Bear Heritage Resort is located in Kamalapur at a distance of 365 Km from Bangalore and Goa (Madgaon) and 415 Km from Hyderabad.
By Road: From Bangalore you can reach Kamalapur via Nelamangala, Tumkur, Chitradurga and Hospet. Take NH4 from Bangalore to Chitradurga (199 Km) and NH13 from Chitradurga to Hospet (135 Km). 12 Km from Hospet is Kalamapur. Once at Kamalapur, turn right at Ambedkar Circle towards Kannada University Road leading to P.K. Halli.
By Rail: Hospet and Munirabad are the nearest railheads. Pickup and drop facilities are available at an extra cost.
